Facilities Maintenance Lead

SUMMARY:

The Facilities Maintenance lead is responsible for overseeing the daily operational needs of the facilities and maintains key facility equipment in good working condition. The position requires working with various departments within the plant which includes production, compounding, warehouse and office areas.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct all work in accordance with company policies and procedures, state and federal laws, and safety guidelines.
  • Oversees the daily work of company janitors.
  • Ensures daily operation of facility equipment.
  • Monitors and maintains the preventive maintenance program for facilities.
  • Performs basic repairs of mechanical, electrical and plumbing.
  • Provide input to performance reviews for janitors.
  • Provide training and in-house certification on Forklifts, pallet jacks, bailer.
  • Perform a variety of skilled building maintenance and repairs including light fixtures, doors, windows, office ceiling, and furniture.
  • Ensures that maintenance shop is clean and organized.
  • Performs any additional duties assigned by manager.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in facilities maintenance.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Team player, willing to complete special assignments on call when needed.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Sitting: 10% / Walking 60% / Standing 30%
  • Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching.
  • Requires the ability to lift, carry, push or pull medium weights.

Requires activities involving being around moving machinery, exposure to changes in temperature, humidity, and noise.
